DNP's W137 Premium Plus Wax

Printhead Residue
  • Overall the best performance by any tested ribbon
  • Tests show that W137's printhead residue is equal at 50% and 100% coverage
  • W137 performed the best, when looking at printhead residue, on both the Zebra and Datamax printers
Printhead Abrasion
  • The best ribbon tested at 100% coverage, the second best at 50% coverage
  • Exhibited the lowest abrasion on both the Zebra and Datamax printers
  • Provided the best results for overall printhead abrasion across all tested thermal printers

Competitor A

Printhead Residue
  • This ribbon exhibited higher levels of printhead residue then W137 across all tested thermal transfer printers
  • Showed dramatic increased printhead residue on the Zebra 140xiIII, over W137
  • The more print coverage on a tag, ticket or label the worse this ribbon performed, across all tested thermal transfer printers
Printhead Abrasion
  • This ribbon exhibited higher levels of abrasion at lower coverage levels suggesting the more the ribbon is heated it appears to be less abrasive
  • Overall a non-abrasive ribbon on the order of W137; however, was much more abrasive on the Datamax printer, and performed the worst on the Sato printer

Competitor B

Printhead Residue
  • This ribbon was the overall lowest performing ribbon tested
  • This ribbon was the only ribbon to exhibit extremely high levels of residue at 50% and 100% coverage
Printhead Abrasion
  • By far the most abrasive ribbon tested
  • At 50% this ribbon was extremely abrasive, in comparison to all tested ribbons, on every printer
  • Also at 100% this ribbon was the most abrasive tested; it showed least abrasion on the Zebra 140xilll

Competitor C

Printhead Residue
  • This ribbon exhibited very high levels more than W137 across all tested printers
  • At 50% coverage, this ribbon showed severe levels of build up on the Datamax I-4206, Zebra 140xill and Sato CL-408e printers. However, tests showed almost no build-up, similar to W137, on the tested Intermec printer
  • At 100% coverage we found similar results. The Zebra, Datamax and Sato tests showed severe levels of build-up than W137 and again, similar results to W137 on the Intermec printer as seen at 50% coverage
Printhead Abrasion
  • Overall this ribbon was as good as W137
  • At 50% coverage it showed the lowest abrasion of any ribbon tested. Highest abrasion results were on the Intermec and Sato printers
  • At 100% this ribbon showed dramatic abrasion results on the Datamax I-4206 printer and placed second to W137
  • This increase was mainly caused by dramatic abrasion results on the Datamax printer
