1. DECEMBER 2005 - DNP Expands Dye Sublimation Media Production

Concord, NC. - December 8, 2005 - DNP IMS America Corporation (DNP) completed part one of a two-part expansion project to increase dye sublimation production for ID cards and add digital photo media manufacturing in North and South America. "The main goal of this expansion project," states Masato Koike, President, "is to better service our North and South American ID card partners, and of course, introduce digital photo media production."

Significant investments in infrastructure, equipment, and personnel were made. Investments included the expansion of specialized clean rooms used to eliminate microscopic particulates that may hinder the quality of photo images. Customized slitting and rewinding equipment, and a refrigerated warehouse (up to 5°C) to store certain heat-sensitive materials were also included in the expansion project.

DNP made additional human capital investments to support the expanded operations and extensive training measures were implemented to facilitate a smooth transition for the operation and use of the sophisticated machinery. This expansion created 21 new positions for area workers and came on the heels of DNP celebrating 10 years of operation in Concord, NC.

"DNP is the world's largest supplier of dye sublimation materials and has been since 1989," states Ernie Giavedoni, Vice President of Operations. "The shift to digital photo printing is enormous and DNP has been at the forefront of this emerging market. We have strategic plans to continue staying ahead of the growth demand for this exciting technology."

The concord facility is DNP's North and South American headquarters for manufacturing thermal transfer ribbons for barcode and dye sublimation printing. Over the past four years dye sublimation printing has rapidly become a dominant print process for digital photo printing.

2. OCTOBER 2005 - DNP Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Concord, NC. - October 25, 2005 - DNP IMS America Corporation (DNP) celebrated its tenth anniversary on Thursday, October 13, 2005 with a special luncheon ceremony attended by key industry partners, local officials, and DNP's corporate officers. The ceremony, held at DNP's Concord facility, included an opening address by Mr. Yoshitoshi Kitajima, Chairman of the Board, President & Chief Executive Officer of Dai Nippon Printing, Co., Ltd. DNP is a 100% US subsidiary of Dai Nippon Printing, Co., Ltd based in Tokyo, Japan. Following Mr. Kitajima's speech was a heartfelt keynote address from DNP's President, Masato Koike.

"Growth is a good word to describe DNP's success over the past ten years," stated Koike. "In 1995, we had only 5 - 6% of the US market share for barcode ribbons. Today we have almost tripled our US market share for barcode ribbons; and have become one of four US barcode ribbon market leaders."

Concord's mayor, Scott Padgett, along with John Cox, President & CEO of the Cabarrus County Regional Chamber of Commerce, were among several local officials in attendance. To commemorate the event, DNP and its parent company made a donation of $30,000 to a scholarship trust fund established almost ten years ago at DNP's grand opening celebration. Dr. Richard Brownell, President of Rowan Cabarrus Community Collage, accepted the donation on behalf of the school.

Twenty DNP employees were honored at the ceremony for their ten years of service. "In today's world," commented Tina Kent, Human Resources Manager for DNP, "ten years at one company is amazing, but for DNP to still employ almost half of its original workforce is phenomenal."

Following the ceremony, guests were treated to a catered luncheon and private tour of DNP's manufacturing facility.

3. JUNE 2005 - DNP's New Wax Ribbon Has More Bang For The Buck

Concord, NC. - June 1, 2005 - DNP IMS America Corp. (DNP) introduces a new wax thermal transfer ribbon (TTR) with the launch of W127 Magnum Wax. The new wax ribbon is called W127 Magnum Wax™and will be promoted solely through a new DNP website, moreribbon.com. W127 contains at least 15% more ribbon per roll than the market's existing wax ribbons-offering VARs a chance to resell something truly competitive. The additional length added to each ribbon will increase manufacturing productivity and reduce changeover time.

"Each printer OEM has a recommended specification for the allowable length, width, and diameter of a ribbon used in their printers," explains Brett Cameron, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "We have developed a ribbon that can fit at least 15% more ribbon per roll, and still remain within the recommended specifications for ribbon diameter. The additional length will increase manufacturing productivity and reduce changeover time by allowing the thermal transfer printer to operate longer between each ribbon change."

This is the first time any TTR manufacturer has challenged the standard lengths established by thermal transfer printers. TTR manufacturers use these recommended specifications when fulfilling orders for the VAR channel. The most popular ribbon dimension produced for thermal transfer printers is 110mm x 450m for a Zebra printer. "Our partners have been requesting a longer length ribbon for years," adds Joe Smith, Product & Services Manager. "We are thrilled to bring this product to market and service the existing demand."

W127 Magnum Wax™is recommended for use in high volume print applications such as general compliance, RFID, shipping, receiving, and inventory labeling. DNP has identified the top ten most commonly purchased wax ribbon part numbers. These ten part numbers will be available for W127 as stock items ready to ship same day. Additional custom part numbers will be available based on demand with a seven-day lead-time and a surcharge.

The business model for purchasing W127 will be different from the existing model offered to DNP's customers. "With W127," states Cameron, "we are changing the way VARs consider reselling TTR. Not only are we changing the standard lengths available for W127, but we are also changing the pricing model for W127. Our intent is to establish new price/performance standards for the TTR market, and W127 will accomplish this directive."
