5. DNP Launches New Web-based Ribbon Runner

Charlotte, NC – March 2003 – DNP IMS America Corporation., a division of Dai Nippon Printing, Inc, Ltd. (DNP) launched the latest upgrade to its website Ribbon Runner (www.ribbonrunner.com). With companies like Nike, Bose and E*Trade employing this application, DNP aligns itself with some of the most recognized names in the business world. Partnering with their current web development firm MindComet, and strategic IT supplier Macromedia, DNP continues to utilize cutting- edge technology to remain a web leader in the thermal transfer ribbon industry.

"Ribbon Runner and the Rich Internet Application technology used, creates an incredible competitive advantage for DNP within the thermal transfer ribbon industry," states Brett Cameron, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "Compared to other TTR manufacturer's websites, no company has anything remotely similar. Ribbon Runner is undoubtedly the best tool in the marketplace."

The Rich Internet Application used to create Ribbon Runner takes advantage of interactive, or rich, client technology. The new Ribbon Runner differs from DNP's previous version by reducing frustration through increased interactivity and instant feedback. The new Ribbon Runner translates complex databases into one single screen interface, making it more relevant to a wider range of users. Additionally, Ribbon Runner takes the confusion out of finding the right ribbon for the right application.

"Anyone can use Ribbon Runner, regardless of their knowledge about thermal transfer printing," states Cameron. "That is the beauty of this new web function. Our partners can now access a database of over 700 DNP part numbers in a matter of seconds. After finding the correct part number, users can e-mail themselves the information. This eliminates incorrect part numbers being ordered. Also, technical specifications such as abrasion resistance, solvent resistance and heat resistance pop up after simply floating the cursor over the desired ribbon. Thus, our partners become more knowledgeable about our products. By using Ribbon Runner, our partners utilize their time more efficiently and ensure accurate ordering for greater profitability."

In conclusion, by combining MindComet's design, Macromedia's technology and DNP's products, Ribbon Runner delivers a more effective and compelling tool for partners to use.
