1. NOVEMBER 2001 - DNP launches new high performance wax thermal transfer ribbon.
Charlotte, NC. November 9, 2001 The Dai Nippon Printing
Group (DNP) launched a new high performance wax thermal transfer ribbon
(TTR) at Frontline Solutions Expo 2001 in November. W160 Ultra Durable
Wax is the latest in an elite family of DNP wax ribbons and performs
with increased durability and abrasion resistance. This high performance
wax has increased label adaptability over other competing high performance
wax ribbons. W160 Ultra Durable Wax prints at low energy settings
for increased printhead protection. W160 prints up to 12 IPS and is
perfect for textile, retail, pharmaceutical, horticulture, flexible
packaging, shelf, logistic, inventory, and general shipping label
applications.
In DNP's recent world-wide testing of more than a dozen of the leading
wax ribbons, W160 ranked as the most durable with a sensitivity "not
found in any other highly durable wax ribbon," comments Brett
Cameron, DNP's director of sales and marketing. "Add to this
W160's value equation, performance and price, we feel extremely positive
about the pending market success of our new product." Cameron
further states of the 10 wax ribbons used in DNP's testing for overall
durability "3 of the top 5 ribbons were DNP wax ribbons. We were
known in the industry for having the most durable resin ribbons, now
we will also be known for the industry's toughest wax ribbons."

3. OCTOBER 2001 - DNP reaches customers through successful product release kits.
Charlotte, NC. - October 4, 2001 - The Dai Nippon Printing Group
(DNP) educates VARs and distributors through their quarterly product
release kits. Since May, DNP has released product specific test results
on three of their flagship thermal transfer ribbons, W137 Premium
Plus Wax, M250 Premium Plus Wax/Resin, and R300 General Purpose Resin.
Each product release kit contains a full performance summary of the
thermal transfer ribbon as well as test results of the industrys
leading competitors ribbon.
DNP is offering a format formerly unused in the TTR market to help
educate its VARs and distributors. "Since our first release kit
six months ago," said Brett CameronDNPs Director
of Sales/Marketing, "weve seen marked requests and increases
of sales in each product we released and re-released."
Cameron states though this format is not new, having been used in
the scanner and printer markets, he believes it has its best uses
and successes for DNP-given the nature of the TTR market. Cameron
attributes some of DNP's success to the honesty at which these product

below a competitor if its what the test results prove," said
Cameron. "Fortunately, this occurrence is rare and most important,
it points to DNPs commitment to educate the VAR and distributor
